near momma in the gazebo,

when we heard a "plop".
She looked at me, I looked at her...
We turned to see what made the noise and
LOOK.........
he plopped into my water bowl.
I proceeded to tell him He was NOT Invited.

Well, he didn't listen.

But I had the last laugh,

I had just drank the last of the water.

Buckingham Blitz

The Buckingham Blitz in Raymond, MN was really fun!

It was a two day Jack Russell Terrier trial.

In other words, racing and RATS!!!!

What could be more fun? *S*

We arrived the day before and set up our "home"...

I got to play for a little bit with the other

Mid West Jack Russell Terrier Club

doggies that I know.

Early in the day we go racing.

Then there was time for a nap

in my xpen before RAT time *S*

Finally it was RAT time...
first stop barn hunt.
Didn't take me long to sniff out that bad guy!
I see Daddy and Uncle Dale found a place to rest
while I checked out the rats.

This is the GTG (go to ground) tunnels.

I found the rat fast enough to get 3rd place

This was something new. Go Fur It.

I had to run around and find an entrance to

a tunnel that is underground. The tunnel

leads to a rat at the other end. I ran around

till I found it. See it in that big log there?

In and down I went. I had to go slow,

cuz I is a big boy and the tunnel was little

and DARK.

I found a little tunnel under there and turned.

I wasnt suppose to turn but I did.

Big mistake. I tried to turn around but

I was too big for the tunnel and I got stuck.

I couldn't turn around, I couldn't back up.

Ummm mom....... come help me.

I sat very still and quiet.

I knew momma was up there cuz

I could here her calling me.

So I waited. Nice and quiet. and waited.

How was I suppose to know she cant

see me thru the ground?

Finally after 15 minutes and

(10 years off her life, she says)

she dug up the tunnel and found me.

It's a great competition concept.

Every where I sniff,

there is chipmunk smell
or mice or rabbits

or squirrels!!!

The joys of living in the country.

Heaven for a jack russell terrier.

But aggravating too, when you can't catch

them cuz of a dumb fence in between ya...

Then just when your frustrated enough,

along comes a tiny mouse plant....

Is mom just trying to drive me nuts?

remember IKE?
Ike is the cardinal that came every day for months
and months and banged on my window.
Then one day he banged so hard,
I had to pick him up and hold him.
Well, he is back. This time he is fascinated with the
side mirror and front fender of our truck.

2011 memorial weekend

Memorial Day weekend we

took a trip to Wisconsin.

We stopped at a doggy park,

then continued onto "a watering hole" daddy likes.

It had a great view of the Wisconsin River

When we got closer,

I went right in and checked out the water...

Then there was a stick floating by,

it sure looked like it needed help...

Must be spring finally!!

We been spending alot of time outside.

Put flowers in gardens.

Started the turtle and frog garden.

Worked on the fairy, unicorn and gnome garden

I tried to get him, followed him 20ft up the

tree, until momma said NOOOOOO.

She says he's a baby and off limits.

Meet Ike.

Ike is a regular at momma birdfeeders.

And he has a real problem with his reflection on our windows.

Today he really attacked his reflection

and found himself on the ground.

Luckily, momma was sitting right there and ran out to pick him up.

Not seeing much damage, she held him and waited for him to decide to return to the wild.

She picked him up and was able to carry him into the house

to grab her camera.

I tried to help but she wouldn't let me.

You will see the different backgrounds, as she stood in the yard,

on the front porch and he stayed while she walked down the driveway to get the mail.

He was very content to sit on her hand

and let her take all the pictures she wanted.

2010 Dec Route--Corrected

This past weekend we went on our December

route. Three 10 hour days in a BIG Budget truck.

It's not much fun so me and momma try to find fun things

to do when we get out of the truck.

We stayed Saturday night in a nice motel with a HUGE

bed. I got to sleep on it! Ahhh felt so good after being

in that big truck for so long.

The motel was decorated up

really pretty for the holiday season.

I sat at the top of the steps.

I really wanted to run down them

but there was two people in white clothes

at the botton and guess what...

somene was taking their picture too!!

The man in white had his picture taken with me by the

shiny snowmen. I tried to mark him with nice paw

prints but momma had a fit and scooped me up.

geeze would have looked nice.

Even though it was snowing 8" of snow at home.

It couldn't catch us driving down the road.

It tried but we kept going south and it finally gave up.

But Mr. Wind and Cool kept right up.

Ike, our resident Cardinal, was banging away at our window like usual.
Suddenly there was a similiar bang on the other window. Only louder!
I flew to the door to go out with momma right behind me.
And there was a downy wood pecker crumpled on the ground.
I was just about to grab it when I heard those most dreaded words,
"Leave it." Which means I can't touch it.
But whats she do, she picks it up.
Whats up with that? I cant, but she can???!!!

When momma picked it up and it didn't move a muscle. Its little eyes were closed and
momma started crying. We sat in the sunshine and said good bye the little guy.
But, all of a sudden, one little eye popped open!

We was so excited.

I few minutes later, it moved one wing, then the other.

About 5 minutes later, it moved its feet and started to stand on momma hand.

It clung to her hand for about 10 minutes. Then finally flew from her hand to her shoulder.

Came back to her hand and looked her in the face. As if saying goodbye and thanks.
Then back to her shoulder. Climbed into her hair and then off to his family.

when my littermate, Gus, came to visit!

It was great to see him again!

We were able to run and play in the park!

Last weekend momma and me went with

Jill and Lea

to Artic Blast, a JRT trial.

It was a very very long ride

and Jill drove ALL night!

Me and Lea became great friends.

She is a 9 month old cutey!

We both raced and

looked for rats in three different events.

We brought home some ribbons

and Lots of great memories!

Look, she came out first

and never gave up the lead!

Yesterday was so much fun!!!

We went to Yogi Bears Campground in Amboy, IL.

The Mid West Jack Russell Club (MWJRTC.org)

put on a racing demo!!

You all know how much I love to run!!

While last year I got to play in Yogi's pic-a-nic basket.

Ant that was loads of fun!!

This year..............

This year he came to visit!!!

And he brought Cindy bear with him!!

I can see why she is his girlfriend,

she is a real cutey!!

She best keep on her toes tho....

I am a bit behind in my blogs.

We have been so busy lately, that

I am now attempting to learn to tie knots

so I can tie momma in a chair long enough

I wanted to tell you about one night last week

when momma went away

(without me! what's up with that??!!!)

She came home smiling big time.

She told me all about her brother Rich and his wife Jill,

*isn't she pretty!". They came up to visit from Florida,

where ever that is!

Momma said I would have loved it.

Seems Rich didn't want a birthday picture taken, but

he should know that if momma has a camera in her

hand, he might as well sit still and get it over with.

We had two nights all nights of

thunder boomers and flashes!

It was so scary!!

Momma sat up with me all night both nights.

When it was all over they say somewhere between

11-14 inches of rain fell.

Most all the roads around are flooded and closed

because our river winds in and thru town

with lots of large creeks feeding them.

All are over the banks.
Lots of businesses on the south side of town
under water. :(

Horseshoe Tournament

One of the nations best horseshoe pitchers,

Alan Francis, shook my daddy's hand.

He was so excited to meet Alan Francis,

kinda like I would be if I got to meet Wishbone!

We were in Danville, IL.

It's an annual Big Horseshoe Tournament.

Also, there, was

a good horseshoe pitcher and bowler,

Walter Ray Williams, but he didn't talk to us.

Even tho momma took me on a few long walks.

We still found time to watch daddy pitch.

Then we watched Walter Ray (in gray),

and Alan Francis (in red) pitch.

One game we actually watched Alan Francis,

throw 92.8% ringers!!

(that's really good!)

But even tho, momma and daddy found that

really really exciting,

I still find this sitting around stuff

kinda boring.

But suddenly, it got lots more exciting!!!

This little birdy decided to join the game.

I wanted to play with him!

But momma said no... sigh.

While watching daddy, we got to meet another

great horseshoe player.

Bob White.

He is not only good enough to win against,

Walter Ray Williams,

but he actually makes horseshoes

for horseshoe playing.

Hello Friends,

Momma started new hobby. Half for her, half for me...

I can't stay outside by myself cuz the bunnies made so many

holes in the fence, momma has to stay out with me.

So a few years ago, she put up a gazebo.

Now we can tweet from outside *S*

Last year, she added alot more comfy chairs...

This year she is clearing out alot of the "stuff"
that was "hidden" behind the garage.
And is "planning"something special there
with bushes and stuff...
(and my tunnels).

Then she is adding a little garden on the east side of the gazebo.
We are just starting it today...

so now we got the "fencing" up and the dirt in.....

But the winds are reallllllly blowing,

the sky is dark, and the weatherman says "thunderstorm watch"

so we will wait.

Don't want the baby plants to be double stressed on their

first night home.........You'll have to check back when the plants

get planted!

One LONG weekend!!!

Hello Friends!

This weekend we went on a truck ride.

We do this 4 times a year. We cover the entire

state of Illinois in 4 days.

Its a long weekend for all of us.

Momma's knee/leg gets sore cuz

I stand on momma leg/lap the whole time.

I am so nosey I MUST see where I am going

CONSTANTLY,

So I never ever sit or lay down when the

vehicle is moving....

So technically I am on my feet from about 7am till 7pm,

cuz when we stop at the scheduled town,

I then jump out of the truck and play for the 15 minutes

we are there....

It's a long 4 days!

But the good part is I am near momma 24/7!

hi everyone!

If your wondering why I haven't been around much lately its cuz I been helping clean up trees that have falled in our yard from heavy snow this winter.

Plus there is a big section that just plain needed cleaning up!

Here are the first few piles pulled out and ready to be burned.

I am a big help! I run around and keep all the wildlife from disturbing mom while she pulls vines , rakes brush and leaves.

I even got to help dig out a big stump!!

It was great fun!

I love to dig more than anything. Thats why are yard looks like..

hmm mom calls it swiss cheese.

What ever that is...

but they never would have got it out, without my help . BOL.

Then, of course, I drove it load by load to the other side of the house to be burned.

We are a long ways from being done, but it looks nice and I got 4 new holes started.

Wonder how many more I can dig before this project is done?

well today is St Patricks Day.

While I am not really Irish.

I like the idea of having good luck!

and of course, I love the idea of

dressing up in a new costume,

or pretending to be Irish for a day.

One estimate suggests that there are about 10 000 regular three-leaf clovers

for every lucky four-leaf clover.

So it may take awhile for me to find one...
Legend says that each leaf of the clover means something:

the first is for hope, the second for faith,

the third for love and the fourth for luck.

So as far as I can see it's worth looking for!

How does it feel to know that if you donate $200 to this alleged caring agency, $1 gets into the hands of local pet shelters? If it makes you feel anything other than mad I’d be shocked. These are the least animal loving people I have ever come up against. Sadly, they make fools out of you and me and their clever ads get deep into our pockets. It’s big business folks, and they know how to take care of their own at your expense."

Yesterday was Feb 2.

Ground Hog Day.

I was so excited, it was snowing,

no way was he gonna see his shadow!

(meaning spring will come early)

But the official Ground Hog lives a long ways away.

I went to be there.

I got dressed up and fooled the little critter.

I caught him!

But....

he still saw his shadow!

We went on 4 day trip for daddy work again.
We covered the whole state of Illinois in
4 days in a Budget truck, 10 hours a day.

It gets very tiring cuz I am silly and will NOT sit or lay down
when the truck is moving.

Try standing and balancing in a bouncing truck that long and see how tired you get!!

One fun place we did stop for a few minutes was in Chester, IL.

Digging in the snow~

I was walking on this hill when my nose said...
"whoooaaaaaahhhh"

I said "MOMMMMM STOOOOPPPPP!!

and I started to dig in the snow.

I was positive there was a mouse hiding in there!

So I dug and dug and dug...

As you can see,

my nose got cold!

It looks almost as pink as it does when I sunburn it in the summer time *S*

But I never gave up till momma

picked me up and carried me away from there.

She did manage to get some movies of my digging, in case, you're interested!

About the award. From what I can see, this award has been passed for years from blogger to blogger. Not just anipals but all sorts of bloggers.

I am honored to have received this award!

So lets begin..

1. So far I have over 150 awards for JRT racing and JRT "rat event"

2. Even tho I love to go for rides in car or truck, I will NOT sit or lay down while its moving, not even for a minute. I don't care if its a 10 minute ride or a 10 hour ride, I am not gonna miss a thing! Therefore, momma always has to hold me up (see my secret now?) cuz I tend to fall asleep standing up and fall or crash to the floor.

3. I am definetely a momma's boy and undoubtedly spoiled as such. And guess what?! I would have it no other way...

4. Learning to read flash cards. My motto, have treat, will read. BOL BOL

5.I love playgrounds and new things to ride..

6.I have a collar to match each holiday or event, made by mom. I could care less, any one of them work, but she likes them, so I play along. Just attach a leash, come-on lets go out!

7.In summer you can find me outside searching for "chipmunks" and things that move, or helping Dad practice his horseshoes, or my specialty:digging!!!

8.I help mom and dad run the barn hunt events at all mwjrtc (midwest jack russell terrier club) fun days and trials.

9.Of course, I will sleep all day until someone says the words "squirrel park" then I am off like a rocket ship. If you say it, you BETTER mean it!!!

10.I have two kitties "sisters" who live upstairs, one big brother Buddy,African Grey Parrot, and two large turtles that are more fun to watch than animal planet.......

How can she possible find that more exciting than either of these two things??
A nice loud squeaky ball, or a raccoon toy with TWO squeakies in it.

Huge Squirrel?

Wow! I went outside to see what all the noise was.

I looked up and thought, wowow thats one big squirrel!

I barked and barked but only branches came down,

so maybe it was a huge beaver instead?

He must have been really hungry cuz he ate the whole tree before he left!

December 8-9, 2009

we got snow. I mean we GOT SNOW....

13" of it. Heavy wet stuff.

Dad shoveled before going to bed so only about 3 inches of it on sidewalk,

I have run down when I went out early in the morning.

But the bushes were kinda covered.

Momma said, "Oh I hate to say its pretty, but it's pretty" and she took pictures.

Only the camera doesn't always see what eyes see. :(

After taking the pictures out front,

She went out back and took pictures.

Then brushed the snow off the feeder and filled it.

It was long before Dad came running thru the room. Already dressed! Said something that I can't repeat and grabbed his coat. Momma soon followed him.

The tree that "was suppose to be taken down this spring" came down.
Right on the new garage and the new truck!

We did go out to play for a little bit, but as you can see,
it was kinda hard to run, walk, or play.
I searched around the yard a little but soon I got carried into the house,
wrapped in a blanket and cuddled on the couch.

Hey Everybody!

Me and momma went to a party last night!!

It was kinda dark and spooky but it was ok!

Treats and goodies all over!

I got to check out some cool and spooky pumpkins!

My really good friend Rocky showed up too.

hehehehe he was a bat!

And I met the Sheriff.

I was on my best behavior.

He was kinda a big fella.

Not quite as big as I think I am,

but big enough.

Then I raced over to have my fortune told.
She looked in the crystal ball
and found my fortune!
There was lots and lots of doggies there!
I tried to meet them all.
I didn't win best costume.
The reindeer took that prize.
But I did do my tricks really well.
And I read my signs and won first place!!
It was really fun!
Now its Halloween night.
I wonder where we will go Trick or Treating!?!!!

Hi! October. Does it really have to come every year?

Mom and that camera are bad enough but October gives her an excuse for more of those

silly costumes!!

This one is most appropriate as I do alot of racing.

But isn't horses that have jockeys?

I don't need no rubber man telling me where the race track is....

Then whats my second most favorite thing to do?

catching rats and chipmunks...

But I never said I wanted to be one!!

But maybe they will be fooled and come closer??!!!

last year it was a bumble bee!! sigh

and I was King of the Squirrel Park for a day...

Now these are the costumes I like best LOL Ones I can dress up into anything I can imagine but I never really have to put the silly costume on. Mom makes these on her computer!

Sept #pawpawty

The sept pawpawty's theme was "down on the farm". Even though I knew there was no way I
would get to attend even one minute of the 24 hr Sept pawpawty, I was having fun making my own costumes and some for others before it started.

What could be more "down on the farm than pumpkins?"

But then I decided something a bit more creative was needed:

Lucky for me alot of people "wore" there costumes

a few days early so I could see some of them.

When @SydPie came out with hers, wearing a @GeorgetheDuck costume I just couldn't resist.

And I joined her on the farm with my own GeorgetheDuck costume.

Before long @GeorgetheDuck came out with his own costume,

ahhhh a cute piggy.....

@HenryandFriends decided to be a goat.

He said he didn't mind it except his beard did itch.

LOL

@no_crybaby_doGs wanted a cowbell and this little calf was willing to accomodate.

The little sheep came to say hello.......

#pawpawties are actually online fundraiser parties and are a blast. Anipals of every type participate, win prizes, eat, drink and have fun!!!

Yesterday was "Talk like a Pirate Day" and the anipals

sure didn't pass up an opportunity to dress up and have fun!

Lots of arrrggghhhh's and aye's and swabby's could be heard

thru out the day.

And costumes! to fit the part.

So now all costumes been hung back in closet until next sept...

Hummingbirds!

Hard to believe, if the past calendars hold true, that in less than two weeks from now the last little hummingbird will have drank her fill and headed south for the winter.

Momma is so sad, the males have already left and there is just a handful of females preparing to leave. Its always a long winter waiting for April when they return again.

It seems like just yesterday that it was April 20th and I was watching momma preparing hummingbird feeders for the scouts to find when they come thru. Normally its about the 25th of April when the first one arrives. And this year was no exception. Right on schedule the male hummingbirds arrived to find some yummy sugar water awaiting them.

A few weeks later the females arrived and approved of the feeding and nesting area the males scouted out. They enjoyed the sugar water.

And soon the orioles arrived. The bright orange feathers and beautiful song make them such a joy to have around, even though they only stay a short time. They enjoy the feeders in the spring, they nest and then move on. And this year momma noticed alot of downy woodpeckers discovered the feeders and spent a good share of time enjoying them too.

Soon the bushes/trees were covered with leaves and someone else nested nearby the feeder.
Mr & Mrs Cardinal raised two babies while the hummingbirds sat in the same bush with them and waited their turn on the feeder.

As summer wore on, the hummingbirds all raised their families and spread the word.

Momma put up three more feeders and still momma had to fill them almost every 4 days.

I never could catch one of those silly birds but then momma would have been very unhappy if I did. I spent my time trying to get those pesky chipmunks under the feeders while she filled the feeders.

But here it is already September, and all the boy birds already gone south to scout out new houses and food sources before the girls come. Momma sits for hours (with me in her lap at her computer) watching these little guys outside the window. She says she is sad to see them go. That it means summer is officially over.

Every day now, fewer and fewer hummers come to feed and by the 27 of September should be none.

Mom did say she will leave the feeders up for a bit for the bees, butterflies and chipmunks to finish them off....

So its goodbye little hummingbirds, fly safely south and hurry back north!!

I was just tweeting along when suddenly I heard:

.... tooooooot ..... toooooot .... i is ere wiv truk ...... tooooooot

Immediately you heard excited barks, meows and noises and anipals were running and jumping and climbing onto the truck.

Slowly lukn both ways so dont get myself trampld as I get in

One even was really huffing as he was (huff huff huff) Just dragging this cooler onto the #truck. I got Barka-Cola, Mountain Mew, barktinis and meowgaritas, and SUSHI!

Sushi? did he say sushi? I wasn't excited over that but I saw a long line of meowers who were!

i did ere sumwun sayin bowt a parayd tooday ... do it be for trucks ... is that ware we is gowin .... Everyone was excited to hear about a parade!

I asked Henry if I could toot the horn today and he said sure!!

Whoohooo!! I was so excited!!

Wow What a day... started out early, we went for a ride in the truck and ended up at a campground...

YOGI BEAR'S campground!!!

Me and mom went for a walk looking for him.

At first we didn't find him but we did find some pretty flowers.

Then I spotted a cool, Huntyr, size boat. I jumped in and took it for a spin.

Ok so it didn't go anywhere, someone had stolen the water underneath it, but it was fun anyway.

There was no more time for looking for Yogi right now as it was racing time!!!

It was just a fun day of racing, not really competition. Lots of people came to watch us run.

We ran and ran and ran.......

When racing was done it was picnic time!!!

Mom and I went for another walk while food was getting ready.

We found Yogi!! He was hiding in the trees cuz he had just snagged another

pic in nick basket.

I jumped right in and helped him eat all the goodies that were in the basket.
ohhhhh some really yummy stuff in there.

Yogi knows he isn't suppose to snag baskets but he
just can't help himself.

We looked for BooBoo but he was hiding.
I finally found him hiding in the playground.

But then, Ranger Smith came along. He was none to happy to find that we snagged a huge picnic basket again.

He sent Yogi home and held me until mom came to rescue me.

She scolded me while he was there but soon as we started to walk away, she started laughing.

I wiggled my butt and grinned up at her.

We went back and enjoyed the big picnic.

Saturday at our MWJRTC trial

Trailing and Locating,
Last spring I tried this for the first time but momma held my leash and I didn't really get to work it. So I was looking forward to it at this Summer Celebration trial.

We met the judge at dinner Friday night. Momma was asking him lots of questions.
Suddenly I saw momma turn white.
The Judge said, nope no leashes, nope not fenced in.
She said I couldn't play now.

The event was surrounded by open field on two sides and woods on one side and a HUGE cornfield on the other side...

But when saturday afternoon came around, she strolled over to the field.
Still she kept telling me, I am not sure we are gonna play Huntyr boy.
Will you stay with momma?

I kept telling her I wanta play but she was so upset.

We walked up with a few friends of ours. And looked at the course.
The weeds we were in, were as tall as me...

We watched our friends play, or at least momma did. She kept making me stand behind other people. I couldnt see. Three of my friends took there turns and got DQ(disqualifed)...

Now momma was really scared. First she said, if they can't win this, how will Huntyr boy?

Then she says if I run into that cornfield or those woods she won't be able to find me.Should she let me play or shouldn't she. She said that a 100 times.
Finally her friends talked her into it. They said they would stay and help find me.

So she carried me to the start line. The judge stood right in front of her while he explained the rules. I still couldn't see where the "rat" was........ grrrrr

She set me on the ground where there was dead grass...
She pointed to the ground and told me to smell.
OMG, let me at it!!! What ever that smell was, I wanted it...

She took my leash and collar off and I was naked. Now she said, go find it!
First I looked at her funny, naked? I get to run naked?
I don't even get to run naked outside at home.

But one more sniff on the dead grass, and she didn't have to tell me twice!!
Bounding thru those weeds I followed that scent. I wanted that "rat"!!!!

I saw some tunnels but I didn't waste my time going thru them. (I guess I was suppose to), but I kept going running running running....

ohhhhh a cornfield, that looks like fun, momma screamed NOOOOOOOOOO, I turned and my nose found that good smell again. I was running really fast and momma was trying to run with me, now that was funny.

But I was so far ahead of her, I forgot she was there, I just wanted whatever it was that was smelling so good.

So I kept following the trail of scent. Once I lost the scent and I had to run around and search and search. Momma was trying to call me to where she was at but I had found that good smell over here by the woods, and I was still running.

We both heard the judge say "he's ok, let him run" and so momma followed me.

I heard her yelling "tunnel", huh tunnel, she must be confused, this isn't an agility course. But my feet were following my nose, running running running, and then I SEE A TUNNEL.

ok so I ran in the tunnel and wowowowowowow a rat!!! I found it!!!!

All my friends that watched me were yelling and clapping. Mom scooped me up in her arms and I got huge hugs and kisses and praises.

The judge just said I took the lead, first place by 11 seconds!!!
But in the end I did end up in 2nd place but whoooooo cares!!

The hugs and kisses I keep getting from momma every time she tells the story is soooooooooo worth staying with her and playing the game like it was suppose to be played.

We had a great weekend.

@maebellepup threw a fantastic #treatclub party today.
It was really fun!!she is a great host!
@sydpie brought hotdog casserole for everyone@SidTheCatahoula bacon wrapped meatloaf too!!!
In honor of the first #treatclub pawty we will be breaking a pinata sid will do the honors

The pinata was broke and treats rained down on everyone and we ate till we were sick. Jokes and stories were told and a great time persued.

Soon @henryandfriends had his new truck up and ready for the #truck ride and the #treatclub was more than happy to join up with him.

On the truck, you hear so many things, "are we gonna have singy songy?"

Butters was a bit scared of the speed, so he asked if he could hold onto my neck. The JRT in me said no but my mouth said "sure we are anipals" and he climbed on.

A bit a later, @henryandfriends: i pullin off motaway now so we can stop an strch legs an fings .... tik tik tik tik tik tik .... slowin down at rowndabowt .... @JinJinDoggy: Ooh, we're in the park! A few doggies got really excited about the sand and began a sandcastle.

2nd #squirrelclub meeting

tuesday we had our second #squirrelclub "meeting".

Those of us who attended last week know we had a great time! Before it started we heard lots of others barking and barking, excited, as it will be their first time!

Its been held both weeks at #lilopuppy's "cave" which is really her backyard but hey if she wants to call it a cave, we will too!

Lots of treats were brought and shared, including fresh sweetcorn and beef snacks!

Talking about how the squirrels are always saved by trees, it was suggested to make a beaver an anipal so he can take care of the trees that always protect the squirrels.

Even Brutus said he was having trouble and he can stand 6 ft tall, yet still trees are taller...grrrr

wowow then we found out, @no_crybaby_dogs never ever saw a squirrel, how sad is that?

Before long, @butter_squirrel showed up....

@sydpie brought meatballs, and I wondered what kind of meat they were LOL

@tweetypie had to leave for a spell to chase squirrel, trying to crash our meeting,outside his window...

#squirrelclub agreed @buttersquirrel is ok but @common_squirrel needs to be taught a lesson still.

Lilopuppy reminded us that last weeks "minutes" were on her blog.

a quiet weekend in LoneRock Wisc

ahhhh another week at lonerock wisc.

A nice little cabin on two acres of pine trees.
The Pines are miles of pine trees planted like corn back in the late 1960's. They now are all about 60ft tall.
We recently thinned them out so more new baby trees can
grow up.
You can barely see our drive so watch for the sign!

As you can see its a nice quiet cabin in the woods.

One of my favorite things about going north is that I get to sleep in the big bed.

I know alot of you say, pfft big deal, but to me it is a big deal. At home I sleep in a crate every night, while those two spoiled cats gets to sleep on the bed with m & d. But since they decided they dont want to travel anymore and they stay home, I get to sleep on it!

When inside, when I am not playing with one of mytoys, I like to look out thru all the
windows there but they are high up, so I have to sit on the backs of chairs and couches to
see out. I am the watch dog bol bol bol

You never know what might be cooking for dinner.

One thing you can be sure of though, it will be yummy.!

This time it was steak and sweetcorn.

I decided I best help peel that corn if I have any hope at all

of getting some of the steak or the corn!

After it was all peeled,

I did the supervisor job of seeing

that it was cooked to perfection.

Looks like mom is doing a good

job.

After it was all cooked, I did my best,

starving routine look,

and managed to pull off getting a

steak bone while it was still warm too!!

Saturday the sun was out. It was hot but me and mom decided to go for a long walk.

We both like them.

Sometimes they are longer than others

but thats ok.

There is always good smells.

She makes me stay on a leash during the walks but she uses my long one and I can run down
and check the trees and tall grassy areas that I see. If I smell a really good smell, she even lets me stay there and smell and smell and smell.

I leave little marks on everything so the next guy that comes along knows I was there first.

Saturday was so hot, about half way thru I just walked next to mom. I actually really wanted to find the shortcut home LOL

Not that I would admit that to mom.

a little breather never hurts, so I stopped to check out some pretty flowers.

Even they were looking a little

wilted in the heat.

Sunday was cloudy and rainy. And even during the non rainy times,

I didnt ask to go out into that heat and humidity again. We don't have one of those weather machines at home like we do in LoneRock so I decided to stay in and enjoy it.

I got all my toys out of the toybox and played, and played, and played.

monday morning mom got up early, so I followed her out into the living room.

When suddenly, my nose said, "huh, what!!???"

"Mouse!!!!!"
There was a mouse in the house while I was sleeping.
This is unexceptable.
I will get you.....

After about 4 hours of trying to get under the shelving.

I thought maybe I would ask for help.

But noone came to help me.

A few more hours of trying then we had to leave and come home.

"Don't worry little mouse, I will be back!"

It started out as a regular old boring day. I was just wandering around the yard sniffing out chipmunks and toads and playing a little ball.

Suddenly I got a tweet that asked if I wanted to go on a #truck ride.I thought sure why not..... and I even offered to drive. I proved to them I was a good driver but @henryandfriends wanted to drive and take his truck.

I said sure... and helped spread the word to all the anipals.

Finally it was time to for the #truck ride and I climbed aboard. So did a gazillian other anipals. We had the dogs, the cats, ducks, guinea pig, monkeys, hedgehog, stuffed anipals, and "happii".

The big kids were helping the little ones stay aboard
And then "Grab my paw. *shuts eyes* Here we go!"

I heard all sorts of barking, and laughing and mumblings during the ride,"MMPH! wufffmumblecoff somebody mumblecoff get this cat off my head", "I will need window seat, ear surfing always required", "it's a little hard to fly with a cat 3 times your size on your head" "i'm ok though"I'm not driving , it's nearly 6.00 somewhere so I've got my Heineken. Drive slow so no spill please " " *hands Hannnnk a roootbeer snowcone* hope u like it!" "What a wonderful view we have up here, dont you agree @HellaHedgie?" " Some drops of ice cream are running down your head Syd" "Ears flapping sounds great! I am short of ears but big on arms! *arms waving in wind*" " Stop that, silly, and come out from under the seat already"

I heard someone serving strawberries, and others having snowcones, icecream, and cookies. I even heard a few people providing wonderful music.

"Whats that?!!!"
We cruised past a carnival, ohhh not cruised past, we stopped!!"

"a fair! I see the top of the ferris wheel, yay! "

Wow some rode the ferris wheel. "oh Sid it's higher than it looks *gulps*" ,

while others rode the "hang on, roller coaster? *wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*"

"that was such fun don't tell anyone I was screaming like a girl will ya?"

"me too *hold hanks' paw rill tite* let's get down an get off of here okai?"

But then the call was sent out to reboard the truck and took everyone back home. Someone even got to...." yoo can to ot orn on way ome. we issnt lowd yews orn wen is standin stil ..."

I wish I could list all who went on the truck ride but the pic shows alot of us. #georgetheduck snapped the pic when we first headed out.

our trip to World Horseshoe Tournament

monday morning we piled in the truck and went for a ride.

It was a pretty long ride, all the way to Springfield, IL.

I went back and forth standing on moms lap or standing on the council

between mom and dad, watching out the window.

I don't like to miss a thing going by.

After 4 hours or so, we reached the big city and whoohoo went straight to a park.

It had lots of big trees, which means, SQUIRRELS!!

Dad immediately pulled his horseshoes out and practiced with a bunch of other guys.

Me and mom went for a walk. A long walk.

Felt good to get out of the truck and play. We chased some squirrels,

and watched the kids on the playground.

Then I found this poor baby bird, his momma was no where around.

I wanted to "help" him out but momma wouldn't let me...

finally after a good long drink of water, we sat down and watched dad practice.

Just look at the Arena he was playing in, if he wasn't nervous before,

that would make you nervous!!

48 pits changing players every 3 hours, from 7am to 8pm.

Dad was scheduled for 8pm, Mon Tues Wed nights. 15 games, 5 per night.

Nerves definetely won Monday night.

He won 1 game and lost 4. He never pitched even close to what he normally does.

Disappointment was clearly effident.

Tuesday night went slightly better, not great. He won 1 lost 3, tied 1.

Wednesday night, he was his old self for the first two games.

Then he must have been starting to think to much again LOL and things slowed down.

He did win one more.

So he ended up with a 5.5 wins and 9.5losses and ended up in 11th place.

There is always next year.

I noticed mom and dad were packing a few things.

It looked like we were going on trip, now I know for sure we are.

Looks like we leave Monday morning

cuz dad pitches at 8pm,Mon, Tues, Wed nights.

This not just any horseshoe tournament,

another July 4th weekend story

It was really nice out and Dad wanted to practice his horseshoe pitching.

He was going to be in a tournament there on July 4th.

So we packed up a few things and off to the park we went.

I looked around the house and in the toybox for something to take with us.

Ahhhhhh the soccer ball the easter bunny brought me this year.

I love to run and "push" it around.

I have a basketball at home and play there too,

but at the park, there is so much more room!It was great fun!!

mom says "my brother", Buddy, the African Grey Parrot, gets to have a chance to tell a story from the 4th of July weekend away.So here I am translating bird chatter for you...

It was one of those moments that "my brother, Huntyr", that goofy dog,

left moms side and went outside to lay in the sunshine.

And mom let me out of my cage like she used to do before

that white ball of energy

came to stay with us.

First thing I did was go up and sit on the window sill

and looked out at the trees,

and cawed with the bluejays thru the window.

Soon I looked down and saw toys.... toys... and more toys.

I hopped down and played for awhile. All that playing makes one thirsty.

funny or clever!?

When we were getting ready to go away for a few days over 4th of July,

I showed mom where to find a treat for those silly turtles she likes so much. Baby toads.

After chasing them for a little bit, I rounded up a few for mom to catch and we took them home in a bottle.

The turtle just so happened to be taking a little snooze on the ramp at that time but mom stuck a toad in there anyway.Who'd of guessed the toad could swim so good and fast. Lickedly split it swam up and immediately climbed up on the turtles floating dock.

Great! I thought, I can see what will happen.

Surely that stupid turtle will spot that toad and the chase will begin..

I thought wrong....

We're HOME!!!!!!

Well, we are home from Lone Rock Wisc.

I have LOTS of stories to tell ya but first I must tell you about someone special having a birthday.

America.

Happy Birthday America!!

We woke up to a drizzly morning. Mom says America is having a birthday.

whoohoo! Cake and IceCream.

I sat by my bowl but noone was cutting a cake.Ok it must be coming later in the day.

Soon mom had leash in hand! Whoohoo! a walk? Nope. In the truck we go. Into the big town(population 500) of LoneRock.

Parade time. We wait and we wait and we wait.

Finally it began.

I was proud to honor the US Flag and veterans as they paraded in front of us.

The noisy firetrucks I could have done with out.
A hour later. Still lots of cars, Semi trucks and tractor after tractor.Ok I had enough, lets go.

But we stayed. Cousin Matthew was gonna be in the parade. We watched and waited. There he is!! And right behind him was his daddy, Matt.

Soon the parade was over and we were off to watch dad & Matt pitch horseshoes.

It was so exciting LOL yawn. But he did win 3rd place. Not bad dad, congrats!

going to Wisconsin

well mom's been busy packing. Says we are going north this weekend. Not coming home till monday night!

Thats ok, its fun up there. We go for really long walks, just me and mom.

There is LOTS of trees and places to sniff out. Mostly we lay around the house and enjoy the peace and quiet. Mom's always real generous with treats up there too!!

Although this is not the quietest weekend we have had up there. I will get to sleep on the big bed. No crates up north!!! Its vacation time. I stay on my best behavior and get to sleep where the cats usually do at home. With mom!!! Dad rolls and kicks his feet so I stay close to mom on her side.

Friday I will stay home all day while they go to stock car races. Well, that pesky parrot, Buddy, will be there too, so I will have to be the big boy and save him if anything comes up. Its a long day locked in the house but I will stay curled up on the big bed and enjoy it. The best part is.... no cats, no turtles. They are staying home to guard the house here.

Saturday we get to go to the parade. I like that, lots of people pet me. but I don't like those NOISY firetrucks, I can definetely do without that part of the parade.Then it will be off to the park for the day. Dad has a horseshoe tournament to pitch in, so I get mom all to myself!! Lots of kids to play with.

Mom did promise me to bring me back to the cabin BEFORE fireworks on saturday night. I DO NOT LIKE FIREWORKS, ONE LITTLE BIT. I might even agree to some "rescue remedy" before they begin to help keep me calm. Going under the big helps a little too.
